EMPLOYMENT LAW

Our firm represents both employers and employees in workplace disputes and advises employers and employees on preventive measures. We have extensive litigation experience in cases involving wrongful discharge, sexual harassment, family and medical leave, compensation, privacy concerns and disabilities accommodation. We have counseled individuals and companies at all stages of the employment relationship where alternatives to litigation are possible.

Health law includes issues of business organization, finance and environmental regulation.

PERSONAL INJURY

We use a team approach to personal injury litigation. We believe intensive preparation is key to successful representation of our clients' interests. Since settlement provides the best results for many of our clients, our preparation is dircted toward facilitating settlement through negotiation, mediation and litigation.

CONTRACT AND COMMERCIAL LAW

We handle contract drafting, negotiation, claims and dispute resolution for virtually all of our clients. The firm's experience includes drafting and negotiating power plant joint ownership agreements, equipment purchases and service agreements, real estate development agreements and construction contracts. We have handled claim negotiation and where settlement was not readily achieved, have pursued mediation, arbitration and litigation on our clients' behalves.

CONDOMINIUM MANAGEMENT

We are general counsel to several of the largest condominium associations in the Killington ski resort region. Condominiums of this size represent small cities with all the attendant problems. Our representation regularly includes drafting declarations and association agreements, corporate law, contracts, debt collection, compliance with environmental laws and regulations, real estate transactions and litigation.

MUNICIPAL LAW

We are familiar with the issues that face Vermont municipalities. Our experience in personnel and employment matters, contract problems, environmental and land use law, and general litigation allows us to provide a breadth of legal services well-suited to our municipal clients.
